Fabulous for finals

Finals coming up? That’s no excuse not to look fabulous. Hair? Makeup? I’ve got you covered, so you can keep on studying.

Makeup!

* Keep it light! You are taking a test/final remember?
Skip heavy layers of foundation for a BB cream or go without. If you have good skin, you typically don't need makeup.
As for eyes, a clear brow gel and clear mascara is plenty. ELF wet gloss lash & brow clear mascara is a great buy at only $1 and contains both products in one tube.
– You can still use clear mascara on a normal day. It makes a fabulous primer or is great for a more natural look.
Lips? Avoid crazy shades and lip liner/ lipstick in general. Lip gloss is okay, but just use a long lasting gloss as most teachers wouldn’t approve of reglossing in the middle of your Calclus final. Anything else? Use a good concealer to cover up evidence of last night’s all nighter and you are good to go ๐Ÿ™‚

Hair?

* Simple and out of your face.
– Try a cute topknot, or flirty high ponytail with a cute headband.
Curly hair? Prep with a curl enhancing mousse and a frizz cream or two, and you should be good to go. Curly hair looks romantic in buns and updos, and adds texture to ponytails.
Short hair? Use a fun headband or add cute clips.
Damaged hair? Avoid pulling hair back super tight, and don’t use rubberbands. Look for ponytail holders that say “snag free” and if you’ll be using heated tools, always use a thermal spray
Oily hair? Showering everyday can make your hair even more oily. Use dry shampoo or a beauty queen classic, baby powder. (for darker hair, use a matte bronzer) Just don’t go crazy. Updos usually work better with second day hair anyway. Whatever you do, skip the slicked back ponytail. That can draw even more attention.

Clothes!

* Skip the sweatpants/PJs. Those look sloppy and just plain ugly.
Jeggings or printed leggings are super cute yet are still cozy enough for 3 hour exams. Make sure that they are thick though (not see through) and that your top covers your bottom/most of it and you should be good to go.
– Maxi skirts are also another great option
– Avoid heels and skip to easy flats or cute moccasins.
* Plan your outfit in advance! If you know that you’ll be frazzled, it will be a lot harder to pick out a cute outfit.

Extras!

* A huge tote to haul everything is a must.
– Plus your notes/textbooks (that can seem obvious, but often during finals you can forget), tea bags (for extra energy), a good lip balm (Burt’s bees lip shimmers are fabulous), protein bars, water bottles, pens/pencils, gum and one small unhealthy snack as a reward for all that studying.
* Avoid loud jewelry that makes noises (ie- that bangle set that jingles when you move)
– Use a planner to keep you sane and organized
– A higlighter in your favorite color is a cute touch.

I also added a new page ; titled Cliquetionary b/c I’ve gotten several comments asking what LBR or GLU us means. Now you won’t need to ask ๐Ÿ™‚

Gorgoeus body- Part 4

Sorry for not posting in forever, it’s finals time and things can get a little crazy. But I’m happy to be posting again, and this time I’m discussing what to eat. Because twinkies will not help your goal of flat abs. I also wanted to say, I’m not a doctor. These are just my personal opinions with some research mixed in. Before starting any diet plan, please consult your doctor.

MBOB’S Dos and Don’ts for healthy eating

* DO drink tons of water
– As mentioned in another post of mine (https://massieblockonabudget.wordpress.com/2013/05/04/get-a-goregous-body-part-3/) there are so many health benefits that it’s kind of crazy not to.

* DON’T skip meals
– This can set you up for eating disorders, and causes your body to store fat because your body doesn’t know when it’s going to get some food. You are also likley to binge at your next meal.

* DO avoid/limit “breakout” foods
– If you’ve noticed that after eating a certain food (for me, it’s ice cream) that your skin doesn’t look so Elle worthy. That might be a hint to cut back on greasy foods.
* DON’T think better is better.
– While the 32 oz drink may be 10 cents cheaper, it’s only ten cents! No human being needs a 32oz coke, so why should you? While you may be saving an extra 10 cents, it’s your health in the long run.
* DO eat tons of fruits and veggies
– No explanation needed.
* DON’T go overboard on “fat free” or “only 10 calories”
– Just beacuse something is 50 calories, don’t eat 4 servings of it.

I also wanted to say that cyber bullying is a huge problem on wordpress and AIM.
Do your part, and avoid extra drama.

My makeover is almost done; here’s what I’ve done so far….

* Made a page for my clique with descrptions
* Deleted a useless page or two
* Added a copyright notice on the side of my blog
* Did some light spell check
* Added a new slogan and title

I’m stil working on it, but the blog looks great, don’t you think ๐Ÿ˜‰

MAJOR

I’m updating my blog with some fresh new changes, an new page or two and possibly a new header. Plus I came up with an ah-dorable new story line.

I was thinking Massie wanted to write a blog to educate all the LBR’s but has no idea how to without sounding rude/snotty. The latest PC member (Layla/moi) offers to help out with Massie contrubuting every so often.

Sounds great right? Soon I’ll be incorparating this idea all over my blog.

I also made a new page “Who am I?’ that describes all of this perfectly.

Get a goregous body – Part 3

Hey there. So you have some motivation to work out, and the ah-dorable clothes to do it in. Now let’s chat about the fuel that you need to work out. Eating healthy (and drinking) has so many amazing benefits. From clear skin to living longer, it’s pretty clear that you can’t just work out, eat a box of oreos and then magically expect to be healthy. But figuring out what to drink can be tricker then you think. Should you really get the diet coke? Which is better after an all nighter? Tea or Sugar free Redbull?

* Water- By far your best choice. The benefits are unreal, just look at this link for proof!http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/benefits+of+water If plain water is too boring, add some lemon juice or fresh fruit slices.
How much? Ok, this is going to sound gross, but until your pee is a light yellow or 64 oz. Water can also be found in other things like fruits and veggies, so you might not need 8 glasses after all.

* Soda- Ok, so we all know that soda isn’t so fabulous for you. Limit yourself to 1 12 oz can per week and that’s it. Get the small size at resturants and do you really need that super big gulp? If you can’t drink 32 oz of water, ditch it.
How much? 8-16 oz a week or less

* Diet Soda- We all know Massie LOVES her diet coke. While it may be a better option then soda (not by much though) it can stil lead to bloating just regular soda, cavities and can trigger sweet cravings.
How much? 8- 20 oz a week or less.
New-Diet-Coke-Can

* Red bull, Monster etc.- Sometimes you can’t escape the fact of an all nighter, but these are not the option. You’ll have a nasty crash later, and they can be super addictive. If you must, get the low carb/ sugar free and don’t pull an all nighter more then once a month. Some better options include Coffee, Tea, or maybe just a Powerade.
How much? As little as possible. Once a month or less is ideal.

* Tea- This is a great way to get going or wind down. Most bagged teas have no calories and some have health benefits like raising your metabolism or reducing your risk of heat attack.
How much? 4-8 cups a week.

* Perrier, Fiji, etc. – If you don’t like plain water, these can be a great option. Just keep in mind, that fancy water can add up quickly.
How much? As much as normal water

* Coffee – Some of us wouldn’t be able to function very well w/out our Starbucks fix. Just keep in mind that whipped cream, and carmel swirls can pack on the calories like nobody’s buisness. There are some great health benefits though, and this is a much a better option then chugging a Red Bull every morning.
How much? No more then 2 cups a day.

* Fruit juice- If you aren’t much of a fruit girl , this is an easy way for you to get the fruit servings and nutrients that you need. Choose options that say 100% juice or make it youself with a high quality blender.
How much? No more then 8 oz a day.

* Crystal light, etc.- These taste great, and can be great if you hate plain old water. However, this isn’t your best option as these are filled with artifical sweetners and colors.
How much? 8-24 oz a week.
