“Where getting in is the easy part”

I’m talking about the A-List of course. Which is a brand new contest brought to you by MBOB.

In other news…
– Like the makeover? I did a vintage/floral theme complete with new images for several of my pages.
– Love this hair tutorial!
– Also, I’ve been getting tons of comments from people that just want to talk. AIM or email is a much easier route.

Confidence is key

In case you need a reminder, you are fabulous!

Now it’s time to show the world how fabulous you really are. “With what?”, you might ask.

Confidence of course! In this post, you’ll find some of my favorite tips, tricks and suggestions to show the world how ah-mazing you are 🙂

“It only matters if it flatters”
Remember this? Dylan’s mom AKA Merilee Marvil had this as her motto. This is a great philosophy towards clothing. Nobody feels comfortable in too tight skinny jeans or clothing that doesn’t suit their body type. Which is a great reason towards not trying every trendy thing out there. For example, fall 2013 is all about baggy clothing, but that doesn’t suit my hourglass shaped body. Buy clothes that you like and look great on you!

Remember what you are ah-mazing at!
Maybe you have a good eye for predicting trends, are great at basket ball, or can go without spell check when writing emails. It’s so important to realize what you are good at! Find something that you are good at, and use it.

Don’t over apologize
While saying “I’m sorry”, is sweet and often must needed, you don’t need to say it for every single thing. It makes you seem unsure of yourself.

Don’t get discouraged
Every one gets bad hair days and/or doesn’t perfect things on the on the first try. Chances are, the girl in your homeroom is hiding her frizz ball with a well placed beanie. And as for being perfect? Puh-lease, that’s as rare as the world ending in the next 3 seconds. What makes everything seem so perfect, is tons of hard work and practice.

Accept compliments gracefully
Smile, say thanks and make eye contact. 99 times out of 100, someone is saying that your shirt is cute because they like it.

Steer clear of depressing music
Put on songs that are inspirational and happy. Music after all, really can reflect your mood.

Form a new habit
Dying for those biceps you saw on tumblr? Want better grades? Buy some protein powder and/or an agenda. Commit to it, and you’ll see a big change.

In other news-

I hope everyone enjoyed this 🙂

Read all about it

Chances are, if you are reading this that you love the Clique series by Lisi Harrison. And don’t get me wrong, it’s one of my favorite series (after all, I made a blog about it 🙂 ) But sometimes, it’s a good thing to try other book series.

All of these series are Massie approved and have all been read by me. In other news, they all have to fabulous in order to make it into this post. I also picked a few books in other genres if you are looking to branch out a little farther. So what are you waiting for?

Realistic Fiction-

These books are written in the style of the clique, focus on similar things or feature some of the same qualities that you loved about the clique.

I’d tell you that I love you but then I’d have kill you by Ally Carter
– A cute and funny read with plenty of action. A must for any James Bond fans.

Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar
A older version of the clique filled with tons of gossip and drama. Warning- I wouldn’t read these if you are under 13-14. There is some not very PG content, just to warn you.

Alphas by Lisi Harrison
My other favorite series by Lisi Harrison. It’s filled with the same things you love about the clique only with 3 new girls.

Secrets of my Hollywood life by Jean Calonita
A fun series on what it’s really like to be famous. I loved the Hollywood facts introducing each chapter.

Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard
Besides being a fabulous TV series, this is a wonderful book series. All the drama and mystery makes it super addicting. Warning- I wouldn’t read these if you are under 12-13. These may not be suitable for younger girls (or guys).

Airhead by Meg Cabot
A addicting read about a model’s identity theft.

Talent by Zoey Dean

A fast paced book about an Alpha and her clique trying to make it in Hollywood.

Other picks

These are great picks if you are interested in branching out even farther or are a fan of other genres.

The lost hero by Rick Riordan

A fast paced action read with plenty of humor. If you like mythology, you’ll love this book.

The Penderwicks by Jeanie Birdsall

A charming book that makes for a great summer read.

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
A mesmerizing paranormal book set in the south with the perfect mixture of action and a little bit of romance.

The Outsiders by S.E Hinton

A fascinating story about a rift between 2 cliques set in the 1950’s.

Matilda by Ronald Dahl

While this may not be for your age, it’s an ah-dorable must read classic children’s book.

Lauren Conrad Style by Lauren Conrad

Anyone can learn something from this book. And I was no exception. From a great guide to shopping vintage to perfecting Lauren’s signature cat eye, there is something for everyone.

The Selection by Kiera Cass

What if a lottery allowed 35 teenage girls to compete for the hand of a handsome prince? The drama and mystery all unfolds in this fabulous read.

The Teen Vogue Handbook

A must have book for anyone who loves fashion and/or ever wants to work with it. The interviews (like the one with Marc Jacobs for example) are super fun to read and filled with fab advice. Not to mention tons of outfit ideas and a list of colleges that are fashion focused.

Want more suggestions?

– Try book review blogs and sites like Goodreads to find what’s worth reading.
– Ask friends, family, etc. for suggestions.
– Go to a library for advice, books and not to mention free wifi

In other news….

– Plus sized? This is a fabulous link-
– Makeover is coming soon! As much as I love my current one, I feel that it’s time for a new change. My posts don’t really suit the whole vintage theme.
– Also, I’ve been getting some rude comments recently. Please keep them to yourself. Calling me a “fraud LBR” doesn’t make you any better and is a waste of both of our time.
– Massie’s diary is going to be re formatted. Maybe I’ll start a wattpad or something, and you can read the chapters there. Details are coming ASAP.
– Let me know if you want an Instagram and/or kik. I personally think what I currently have is enough, but let me know what you think.

Liebster Award

I have recently been tagged for the Liebster award by and several other bloggers (whose URL’s, I’ve forgotten. If I left you, please contact me ASAP so I can update this blog post) which is a wonderful honor.

As the award states, I need to reply back to 11 questions and tag up to 11 new bloggers who I think should receive this award. Then I give those bloggers 11 fabulous questions to answer As this wonderful blog mentioned (, it’s like a big internet hug 🙂

And without further ado, here are Hedi’s 11 questions…

1.) What would you typically do on a summer day?

I recently hurt my ankle and just got off crutches. I still however, have a boot on which doesn’t allow for many options. But you can usually find me shopping (but walking very slowly), at the movie theater, at a friend’s house or working on my tan at the pool. I also love doing DIY face masks with my ah-mazing sister, Face timing my friends, catching up on Twisted (a wonderful tv show BTW) , or just reading a magazine/book.

2.) What is your favorite book to read?

Right now, I’m reading Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl (which is the second book in the Beautiful Creatures series). It’s an ah-mazing book if you haven’t already tried it.

3.) What is your favorite sport to play?I love to run! I’m more of a long distance girl, so I love cross country.

4.) What is your dream job?I love to write and I love beauty products. I think working as a beauty editor at a fashion magazine would be a match made in heaven.

5.) Favorite Book?
Alphas & the Clique by Lisi Harrison, The Penderwicks by Jeanie Birdsall, Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard. and Harry Potter by JK Rowling are some of my favorites!

6.) First Move: Boy or Girl?
Either. I think if you really like a guy (or girl), that you should just go for it. Honestly, they are just as nervous as you are.

7.) What is your favorite movie?
I love the Devil wears Prada! It’s a little cliché at times, but the acting is fabulous. Not to mention the one liners and of course the fashion!

8.) If you had to be any character in a book, who would it be?That’s a tough one. However, I’d love to attend the Alpha academy (in Lisi Harrison’s series Alphas) because it sounds like such a fantastic opportunity.

9.) Your favorite type of dance?I love ballet! The dancers always make everything seem so easy but it’s not. It takes a ton of dedication to that and I really admire them for it.

10.) What is your style? (Girly, Edgy, etc.)
I’m girly with a twist. I love lace, skirts, sparkle, etc., but like to add my own fun twist. This may mean keds with a girly dress (AKA Taylor Swift) or something a little bit edgier.

11.) Would you change anything about WP?
I sometimes think people take it way too seriously. I feel the WordPress and just roleplaying in general is designed to be an escape from everything. Constantly worrying about page views and making sure your FC isn’t taken takes away the fun from blogging and roleplay.

11 Facts

1. My favorite color is purple. And yes, I liked it before I read the clique books.
2. I have crazy hair. It’s turning from wavy to curly for no reason at all, which makes it very difficult to style. It’s also extremely thick.
3. I’m super short. I’m around 5’2 and that’s with flats on.
4. I have a Face Mask addiction. One of my favorite things to do is to google homemade face mask recipes and recreate them. They almost always turn out fabulous and there is nothing better then relaxing with a face mask, a diet coke in hand and a pile of Lucky’s and Instyles at your side.
5. My favorite stores include Charlotte Russe (like a classy Forever 21) , J Crew, H&M, and American Eagle .
6. I live in Charlotte NC.
7. I believe that everyone is beautiful no matter what their jean size is. Which is why in any fashion posts, I’m now adding at least 1-2 options for plus size girls.
8. I’m most like Alicia & Kristen out of the original clique members. I take importance on good grades, I love gossip, I’m very dedicated to my sport, and I have naturally tan skin. (I’m half Arabic)
9. My goal in blogging is to make it to 500,000 views. Crazy? Yes. Impossible? Puh-lease.
10. My favorite high end makeup brands are Benefit and Urban Decay. My favorite drugstore brands are Maybelline and Rimmel.
11. For some reason, diet soda tastes better to me then regular.

And anyone else who would like to do it. 🙂 If you are interested, please email me and I will be more then happy to give you the questions list.

In other news…
– Requests and Ask the Alpha are open 🙂
– In hair and beauty news, the Rimmel Glameyes mascara is ah-mazing! I recently bought it, and it’s one of the best drugstore mascaras I’ve tried. It gives tons of length for flirty lashes and adds nice volume too! At 5.99, it’s also a fabulous deal too.
– I’m also entered in the Eulogizing the Exquisite which may result in a new look or an off topic post or two. To find out more (or even enter yourself) please feel free to look at
– Current requests include a Guide to curly hair, Fabulous reads, and a back to school survival guide. Don’t worry ladies, these posts will be out soon 🙂

Here’s to a fabulous summer,

A charmed life

One of Massie’s infamous trademarks (besides her love of purple and need to constantly reapply lip gloss) is her charm bracelet. Here’s how to get it for less.

– Bracelets where you don’t choose each charm. Hence the name, premade. These are typically cheaper and are easier to find.

* Charlotte Russe- While not known for high quality, this store is better then shops like wet seal and forever 21. Great if you are growing out of a Massie phase, just want to try before you invest in something more expensive, or don’t feel like paying more the 10 dollars.

* Nasty Gal- Known for wild clothing, this site has a surprisingly good charm bracelet. It’s more on the edgier side though and expect to pay 18 to 30 dollars.

* Banana Republic- This store has a fantastic preppy sea inspired bracelet for around 40 dollars.

* Lucky Brand- This Massie approved jeans brand does boho chic for 45 dollars.

* Chanel- While not exactly budget friendly, these are definitely worth the money if you have some extra to spend. Expect to pay a 1000 dollars or more.

Custom made
These are typically in the higher price range, but you get your money’s worth with 18k charms, and custom plating.

* Brighton- A sort of hybrid between the Pandora variety and a classic charm bracelet that’s super cute. Expect to pay 75-200 dollars.

* Pandora- The inventor of the so called charm bracelet craze became a household brand with it’s unique type of charms. Expect to pay 300-800 dollars.

* Tiffany- The luxury standard in charm bracelets worn by Massie herself. Expect to pay 2000-8000 dollars.

– I made a polyvore! You may have guessed, as I posted 2 recent sets. 🙂 The link is, & don’t worry I’ll change my username.
– I made it into the 3rd round of the Ultimate Legend contest, and I’m so happy I made it that far. Best of luck to everyone still competing!
– Instagram + Kik are coming soon!
– Look out for a new Massie’s diary entry.

Queen Bee

This is my first post for the contest 🙂

The theme is queen bee and it’s more of a roleplay. Let’s start, shall we?

With my never needed Bumble and Bumble salt spray beach waves, hourglass figure and legs that aren’t far from an issue of Women’s health, it’s easy to look at me and just tell. But anyone can be pretty. Why all it takes is a vist to Saks, a dermatolgist appointment, a cute haircut and the help of ladies at the MAC counter. But it’s a lot more then that. A queen bee has a flair to them that can’t be bought with your Black Amex card.

But enough about me. Let’s dive into what it takes to be a Queen Bee worthy of ruling of any hive literally or otherwise.

Fabulous Hair
A Queen bee knows what her hairtype is and buys the correct products. You would never catch a Queen bee buying shampoo made for straight hair when she clearly has curly hair. And vice versa. A Queen bee also knows her limit when it comes to heated tools (like blow dryers and flat irons for example) and tries to let her hair air dry whenever possible. She also has a great relationship with the ladies at her hair salon due to her like clockwork haircuts. She knows that split ends are never in style, gets trims (as mentioned before) and weekly deep hair treatments to prevent them.

Flawless Skin
A Queen bee buys the best high quality skincare she can afford for her skin. She knows to avoid starchy and fatty foods for they can cause breakouts and avoids touching her face. She has a first name basis with her facialist and dermatolgist and her devotion to SPF is legendary.

Wonderful Wardrobe
Even if a Queen bee is wearing Puma, she’ll make it seem like Prada. She’d rather die then be seen in sweats and is always classy never trashy. She is well read in fashion magazines and has a legendary blog. She’s a trend starter, not a follower.

In the know

The Queen bee knows everything and everything. She isn’t called a “Queen bee” for nothing, after all. She knows what’s hot before it hits the runaway. She uses social media to her advantage and has countless followers.

Marvelous Makeup

When’s the last time you saw a Queen bee with mascara clumps or clown blush? Exactly. Her makeup is designed not as a mask, but to show off her beautiful features. It’s never overdone or wet and wild. She buys the best quality makeup she can afford and always the correct shade for her skin tone.

A Queen bee (like I previously stated) has a flair to her that can’t always be explained. While your exterior is a fairly big factor, a Queen bee is much more then a pretty face in a Teen Vogue ad. A Queen bee is similar if not the same to an Alpha.

Don’t worry if you don’t posses all those elusive qualities. Not everyone is best suited as a Queen bee after all.

And end Queen bee post

Hopefuly, this post was okay. I’ve been super busy recently, so I unfortantly had to do a very quick post. 😦

– New image of Dylan on The PC page.
– As of right know, I have 3,060 views!!! I awn-estly thought this would happen. Like I used to be happy when I got 5 or 6 views a day, and now I’m going double that on a slow day! This is so incredible and thank you so much!!
– I made it through round 1 of the Ultimate Legend contest 😀
– Ask the Alpha is your place for advice ASAP
